Learn to play beer pong!
Formations:
Start with either 6 or 10 cup formation in the shape of a pyramid.
Cups must be touching with no gaps between them. Each cup must be
filled up to the 1st line with your beverage of choice.
Starting the Game:
To start off the game, you have a “throw off.” Each team selects one
player. These two players must have direct eye contract without
looking at the cups directly, and then throw on the count of 3. If
no one makes it or both people make it, the other teammate goes, and
so on. Once a team has won the throw off, the game begins.
Throwing Rules:
If both team members make it in a cup, on the same turn, they
get “throw backs,” which means, they get both balls back and the
other team doesn’t get a chance to throw. If both players throw the
balls in the same cup, the game is over. If any cup falls over or
off the table it is counted as a made cup which includes knocking
over your own cups.
Once a cup is made, the team must remove the cup from the rack.
If they put that cup on the side of the table with beer in it, it is
still considered a LIVE cup, and if that cup is made, this is also
GAME OVER. If someone is holding a cup with their hand that someone
already made, a player may attempt to throw it in that cup in their
hand, for Game Over.
Bouncing:
Bouncing the balls is allowed, if you make it in, it is a 2 cup
shot. BUT the other team is allowed to swat/hit the ball once it is
bounced.
Your elbow may not break the edge of the table during any
throwing attempt.
Re-Racking or Consolidation:
There are many different ways to re-rack, which is a re-organization
of the cup formation. Some people say that you are allowed 2
re-racks per game at anytime. Others play with re-rack at 6cups, 4,
3, 2, 1. 6 cup formation is a mini pyramid, 4 is a diamond shape, 3
cup triangle, and 2 single file. Re-racking isn’t allowed in between
same teammate turns.
Rebuttals:
At the end of the game, if the last cup is made, the opposing team
must make the remaining cups. They shoot until they miss. If both
teammates make the same last cup, that is GAME OVER with NO
rebuttals.
Bitches Blow:
If a ball spirals around inside a cup, a female player may blow on
it. The objective would be to send it out of the cup. Sexist, but
nevertheless, a rule.
Overtime:
In the case of a tie, the teams enter a 3 cup overtime period,
following the same rules as stated above. |
